Ted G. Crawford ~ Owner - D3 Design
Ted has taken a generalist approach to his design career building a robust and varied range of problem solving skills in both 2 and 3-D design. After five+ years in design related schools (Columbia University, NYC, NY and Art Center College, Pasadena, CA) he earned a degree in 3-D product/industrial design with a heavy emphasis on graphic design and illustration. Product design dominated Ted's early career (Hewlett Packard, Teledyne Water Pik, Colorado MEDtech) but inevitably graphic design tasks, from traditional print graphics to web site design and other digital materials, have played an ever-growing role in his consulting business with clients such as Colorado School of Mines, Colorado Energy Research Institute (CERI) and many others both large and small in the U.S. and in Mexico.
Throughout his career, Ted has always embraced an entrepreneurial spirit and generosity that has not always resulted in large monitary gains but has certainly made life enjoyable, rewarding and exciting. His design style is clean and uncluttered adhering to what he refers to as a "graphic pecking order" where establishing visual priorities creates a pleasing, ordered yet stimulating 'recognition experience'.
Unique in a highly creative person, he is able to embrace and understand technical parameters yet still brings a fresh creative approach to just about any visual or functional task.
"Wow...I have worked with many graphic artists and designers but none with your ability to think out of the box...you really are very creative." - K. DeLange
